You can track a habit without an account in three ways: print a habit grid and tick it on paper, use a web tracker that saves to your browser's local storage, or install a phone app that keeps its data on the phone. None of the three asks for an email address. The price is the same in each case: nothing syncs between devices on its own, and nobody can restore your record if you lose it.

We make GoalTracker Online, which is one of the tools below, so weigh what we say about it with that in mind.

1. On paper: a printable 30-day grid

Best for: one habit, ticked off at the same place every day.

Open the 30-day habit tracker template, type the habit's name and print the page. Stick it where the habit happens: the bathroom mirror for flossing, the fridge for a glass of water, the desk for ten minutes of reading. A grid you walk past is a grid you fill in.

  • What stays private: your habit name is not sent anywhere. The page saves nothing, and it counts only anonymous usage events, such as a print, with Umami analytics.
  • What it cannot do: remind you, count your streak or survive a coffee spill. Take a photo of it each week if the record matters to you.

2. In your browser: GoalTracker Online

Best for: a habit that is part of a bigger goal.

GoalTracker runs in any web browser with no signup. You type a goal, split it into subgoals, and tick them off. Ticking at least one subgoal on a day keeps your daily streak alive, and a calendar shows the last 28 days. Your goals stay in your browser's local storage.

  • What stays private: the text of your goals. It is never sent to us. The site counts page views and anonymous usage events with Umami analytics, without your goal text.
  • What it cannot do: reminders, repeating habits on a schedule, or a separate streak for each habit. It has one streak for everything. If you clear your browser's site data without exporting a backup file first, your goals are gone.

If you want the paper grid and the browser at once, the template page can also download your habit as a file that you import into GoalTracker.

3. On your phone: an offline habit app

Best for: several habits with reminders.

Two free, open-source apps need no account. Loop Habit Tracker (Android) has reminders, widgets and schedules such as three times a week, and its habit score does not drop to zero after one missed day. Table Habit runs on Android, iOS and desktop, with optional WebDAV sync that you set up yourself. Both keep your data on the device. We checked these facts on each app's own page on 7 October 2026; check them again before you install.

  • What stays private: your data stays on the phone unless you export it.
  • What it cannot do: follow you to a laptop without a sync you set up, or survive a lost phone without a backup.

Goal trackers with no signup compares six tools in more detail, including their limits and how to move your data.

Keep the streak honest

A tracker with no account cannot nag you, so the habit has to be easy to tick. Make the daily version small: one push-up, one page, one glass of water. How to build a daily streak covers that, and does missing a day break a habit? covers what to do after a missed day.

Open the habit tracker template, name one habit and print it, or type it as a goal in GoalTracker. Neither asks who you are.
